Prince Valiant

Prince Valiant began in full color tabloid sections on Saturday February 13, 1937. The first full page was strip #16, which appeared in the Sunday New Orleans Times Picayune. The internal dating changed from Saturday to Sunday with strip #66 (May 15, 1938). The full page strip continued until 1971 when strip #1788 was not offered in full page format—it was the last strip Hal Foster drew. The strip continues today by other artists in half page format.

Tank McNamara

Tank McNamara is a daily syndicated comic strip written by Jeff Millar and illustrated by Bill Hinds. The strip debuted in 1974. The title character is a local sports television reporter who used to be a defensive lineman in the National Football League, hence his name (whether nickname or given name is unclear). The strip focuses primarily on contemporary American athletics, which allows it to remain topical and also to dabble in related subjects such as politics and social issues.

Andy Capp

Andy Capp is a long-running British comic strip character created by Reginald Smythe, seen in the The Daily Mirror and The Sunday Mirror newspapers since August 5, 1957. The strip is syndicated internationally by Creators Syndicate. Originally a single-panel cartoon, Smythe later expanded it to four panels. The character is also licensed as the mascot for a line of snack foods, and a defunct chain of miniature golf courses in Brevard County, Florida. Smythe received the National Cartoonist Society Humor Comic Strip Award for the strip for 1974.
